Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules
Oversees documented system of accounting policies and procedures, including records archive management
Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, budgets, and actual expenditures
Develop and enforce consistent accounting policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems across all stores and offices, adhering to GAAP accounting standards
Conduct regular internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls
Works with the external auditors for the annual financial audit to assist in preparing the annual, audited financial statements in accordance with GAAP accounting standards
Provides information to auditors and tax accounting partners for tax planning and payment purposes
Leads the tax team that complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising leadership
Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
Interviews and hires new associates; plans and evaluates the performance of the team; establishes performance requirements and goals; regularly monitors performance and provides coaching for performance improvement and ongoing development

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business
Minimum of ten or more years of accounting or finance experience
Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations, multiple state tax laws, and compliance reporting
Experience in developing, monitoring, and streamlining accounting processes
MBA, CMA, or CPA preferred
Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:
