located in Detroit Lakes MN is seeking a Benefits Administrator to join our team.
The position will assist by providing support to the benefits department.
This individual will coordinate promotion of these benefits, provide follow-up on client inquiries, facilitate participant enrollments, and assist with the invoices and accounting functions of all plans.
The Benefits Administrator will maintain frequent and close working relationships with agents, clients, and employees to communicate and coordinate activities related to the administration of the benefit programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Administer various employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and supplementary benefits.
* Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding benefits programs.
* Process enrollments, changes, and terminations in a timely and accurate manner.
* Serve as the main point of contact for employee inquiries related to benefits.
* Maintain accurate records and prepare reports related to benefits administration.
* Prepare and distribute materials for open enrollment periods.
* Educate employees on benefit options and assist with questions.
* Act as liaison between employees, HR, and insurance providers.
* Manage critical, sensitive and confidential information.
* Track data, generate and distribute information.
Qualified candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, possess strong communication skills, be committed to customer service, have excellent attention to detail, excellent mathematical skills, and have multi-tasking ability.
Working knowledge of payroll, new employee on boarding, and accounting experience is preferred.
*Minimum Qualifications*
* Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field.
* Two (2) plus years of experience entering large amounts of information into spreadsheets and databases under a strict deadline in a human resources or finance office.
* Experience following confidentiality guidelines and handling sensitive information.
* Ability to maintain attention to detail while experiencing frequent interruptions.
* Ability to identify and address multiple duties, work under pressure, and be flexible with changing priorities.
* Ability and desire to work cooperatively with others as a team.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff, managers, supervisors, and external sources.
* Knowledge of spreadsheet, database, and word processing software applications sufficient to independently manage documents, files, and spreadsheets.
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Fundamental Payroll Certification
* Certified Payroll Professional
* Two plus years of experience in Accounting – Payroll
