Description & Details:
The Accounting Supervisor position reports to the NDSU Accounting Department but provides accounting support to the NDSU Bookstore, Memorial Union, and Student Activities Office.
This position is responsible for managing the daily accounting processes, overseeing the financial reporting and analysis, and guiding the budgeting processes for the departments.
This position supervises Bookstore accounts receivable and accounts payable positions and provides accounting and processing guidance to professional staff within the departments.
The Accounting Supervisor works with multiple accounting software systems including NDSU's PeopleSoft, the Bookstore's NetSuite, and other Bookstore and Memorial Union software.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday
Advertised Salary: $75,000+/year depending on experience
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Detailed knowledge and understanding of general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
2 years of experience required in an accounting or business-related position.
Must be able to work through the complex accounting issues and identify an opportunity to improve the accounting process when it is applicable.
Highly proficient with MS Excel and Word.
In depth experience and aptitude in the use of functional software.
Possess organizational, leadership, and customer service skills with the capability to work with and motivate others.
Demonstrated excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS and Finance modules
Experience with NetSuite
Experience working in either higher education or a retail setting
Supervisory experience
