The NDSU Accounting Service Center (ASC) was created in July 2023 as part of a reorganization of financial activities across campus.
The ASC Supervisor leads a team that provides financial service support to multiple departments in the areas of purchasing, accounts payable, reimbursements, and purchasing card administration.
This position is responsible for managing the daily operations of an ASC portfolio, supervising staff and assigning work, providing guidance and direction for complex financial and technical issues, and serving as the primary liaison to supported departments.
Responsibilities of the Supervisor include: Supervising a team of Accounting Specialists, including performance management, administrative responsibilities, employee recruitment and onboarding, etc.
Leading the portfolio team through the transition to new structure and processes Monitoring and managing activity for the assigned portfolio Participating in activity of portfolio team, including processing of P-Card purchases, Purchase Requisitions, AP Vouchers, Travel & Expense Reports, Journal Entries, etc.
Providing general policy and procedure guidance to ensure the accuracy of transactions Reviewing and approving transactions as needed Working with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies identified in business processes, identifying opportunities for more accurate processes, and making recommendations for improvements Contributing to training manuals and procedures for the Accounting Service Center and assisting the Financial Systems Trainer with university-wide Finance process training development and delivery Contributing to an environment of cooperative, supportive, and positive working relationships with co-workers and customers Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday Advertised Salary: $63,000+/year depending on experience and qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years direct experience or; Associates degree with 5+ years direct experience Direct experience related to processing purchasing, accounts payable, and accounting activities Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional level of customer service Experience and aptitude in the use of financial software and Excel Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Knowledge of accounting and financial related policies, rules and regulations Possess organizational and leadership skills with the capability to work with and motivate others Ability to think critically and find solutions to technical or operational problems Preferred Qualifications: Major Field of Study or Degree Emphasis: Business, Accounting, or related field.
