Overview:
This position is responsible for the administration of the company’s payroll systems and is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of payroll and related client services including recordkeeping and reporting.
This position is a great fit for your career if you:: Perform full spectrum of payroll process to ensure accurate, timely and compliant payroll delivery for Titan Machinery in the United States Ensure compliance with all federal and state payroll taxing authorities, establishes controls to verify compliance, and trains payroll staff on regulatory changes Accurately process and maintain payroll information as required: Data entry for all related transactions such as new hire, termination, leave of absence, benefit deductions, garnishments, etc.
Vendor transactions including flexible spending, 401k, etc.
State and Federal taxes including quarter and year-end reconciliations and filings Accurate and complete time-card processing in compliance with external and internal policies Process deductions and benefits accurately and timely Reconcile payroll deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments and voluntary deductions Prepare and balance period-end reports Prepare and maintain accurate related payroll records and reports Performs actions necessary to track and determine regular and overtime pay, and factors commission-based income or bonuses into an employee's salary.
Prepares responses to notices from government agencies regarding employee tax filings Document workflow and work procedures Collaborate closely with HR team for other payroll relevant tasks Cross-train designated back-up to administer and process payroll Prepare and maintain standard and ad hoc reports, queries, and conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity Ensure timely distribution of payroll checks as needed Stay abreast of laws and regulations and enforcing the processes aligned with these regulations related to payroll and ensure alignment with payroll expectations Analyze and resolve inquiries or discrepancies from employees as they relate to payroll Identify opportunities, make process improvement recommendations, and implement changes Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Required: 6+ years of experience with primary responsibility for multi-state payroll administration and processing Two-year accounting or business degree or the equivalent in related work experience Strong working knowledge of federal/state payroll regulation and payroll accounting, including processes and reporting as it relates to the Davis-Bacon Act and prevailing wages Ability to handle and resolve interpersonal conflict Ability to perform in a fast-paced, stressful work environment Ability to respond quickly, accurately, and professionally to demands and requests from customers and employees Ability to travel on a limited basis and work flexible hours Exemplifies Titan Machinery’s Core Values Keen attention to detail, high level of initiative, and the ability to work independently Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines efficiently and cost effectively Demonstrated experience working with payroll and/or human resources management systems Demonstrated knowledge of payroll and accounting practices and principles Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal employment laws relating to key areas of responsibility Strong computer skills; advanced working knowledge of Excel; working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products; ability to quickly learn new systems Demonstrated strong decision making and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational skills Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field Certification – Certified Payroll Professional, American Payroll Association Working knowledge of UKG as it relates to payroll processing Titan Machinery provides a generous total compensation package including the following: Health Insurance - Titan Pays the Premium for Single Coverage!!
