For over 100 years, YMCA Camp Cormorant has offered spirit, tradition, leadership, and exceptional facilities to campers.
Founded in 1903, Camp Cormorant is one of the oldest overnight camps in the entire nation.
The camp is nestled on 80 acres of wooded property with an extensive beachfront on Big Cormorant Lake.
We are located approximately six miles south of Lake Park, MN, in the heart of Minnesota lakes country.
Our Male Camp Counselors are responsible for coordinating a variety of fun activities with campers.
No day at camp is just a typical day! The YMCA Camp Cormorant offers more than just a job - we offer the chance to make a lasting difference for the youth in our community! As a Camp Counselor at Camp Cormorant, you will guide campers in their personal growth and daily living skills.
Camp Cabin Counselor: Under the supervision of the Camp Director, Camp Cabin Counselors are responsible for planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out activities and guiding campers in their personal growth and daily living skills.
Camp Cabin Counselors assist in the direction, supervision, and organization of campers in their cabins, within activities, and throughout camp.
They greet campers and parents upon arrival and help campers get settled into their cabins.
They also assist with evening programs, campfires, and leading songs.
Our camp cabin counselors set a good example to campers and others in regard to general camp procedures and practices, including sanitation, schedule, and sportsmanship, while also following and upholding all safety and security rules and procedures.
2024 Camp Schedule: June 3-7 - Training June 9-14 - Week One (All Staff) June 16-21 - Week Two (All Staff) June 23-28 - Kamp KACE (No Cabin Counselors, Junior Counselors, or CITs) July 1-5 - OFF July 7-12 - Week Three (All Staff) July 14-19 - Week Four (All Staff) July 21-26 - Week Five (All Staff) July 28-Aug 2 - Week Six (All Staff) August 2-4 - Family Camp Weekend (Select Staff) August 4-9 - Week Seven (All Staff) August 11-16 - Week Eight (All Staff) Pay & Benefits: This position pays $428/week.
You will be paid a weekly rate of pay and paid bi-weekly.
Free room and board at the camp - you will need to live at Camp Cormorant!
