83 JOB DESCRIPTION Responsible for operation of tandem axle gravel truck towing a tandem axle trailer.
Gravel is hauled from gravel pits and from stockpiles at various locations throughout the County.
Gravel is hauled to gravel surfaced roads, shoulders of asphalt or concrete surfaced roads, construction project sites, or stockpiles throughout the County.
Incumbent may also be required to haul other construction material including, but not limited to, asphalt and rock.
Responsible for all aspects of vehicle operation and for performing routine vehicle checks and maintenance activities necessary to maintain the vehicle in a safe and efficient operating condition.
May perform manual highway maintenance activities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be able to demonstrate complete knowledge and skill at driving a tandem axle truck and trailer combination.
Must hold a valid State A driver’s license.
Must have a safe driving record.
This position is safety-sensitive and requires pre-employment drug testing.
May require prolonged standing, lifting up to 70 pounds, frequent bending, stopping, and stretching.
