BASIC FUNCTION
The basic function of the Assistant Manager is to provide overall direction and supervision to the operations of the restaurant in accordance with the goals and objectives as set forth by the budget and the General Manager.
To provide direction and control through proper delegation techniques to the functional supervisors and to act as a guide and counsel to the functional supervisors on a daily basis.
AUTHORITY, SCOPE AND REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Assistant Manager has authority as derived from the General Manager and reports to the General Manager.
The Kitchen Manager/Supervisors, Servers, Bartenders, Cleaners, Cooks, and Maintenance are the defined positions reporting to the Assistant Manager.
All information obtained about the restaurant and/or its clients will remain strictly confidential both within and outside of the restaurant.
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education Required: high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: 2 year associates degree in business or restaurant management.
Experience Required: At least one year experience in the restaurant industry.
Preferred: At least one year experience as a supervisor in the restaurant industry.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Computer literate, excellent oral and written communication skills, supervision and management skills, complete understanding of the industry from guest relations and operational standpoints, commitment to accuracy and detail, and maintain a positive attitude.
