Indoor Shift Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY:
The Indoor Shift Supervisor will oversee personnel and maintain great customer service, direct daily activities, receive and display merchandise, and be a store key holder.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Training personnel as needed on the cash register, phone, product and price list, and customer service.
Provide feedback and coaching and development of Indoor Associates.
Create ways to recognize the team for a job well done and drive positive energy in the store.
Make customer service a top priority for associates and lead by example.
General practice of processes and procedures as they apply to their department.
Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
Assigns jobs and projects to staff to ensure that deadlines are met safely and accurately.
Enforcing the company’s policies and procedures to maintain store standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Drive customer experience, great first impression and positive lasting impression when they leave.
Facilitates the receipt and verification of incoming shipments; ensure merchandise is unloaded, verified, tagged, displayed and stored according to policy.
Conducts regular inventory checks of store supplies and communicates results of inventory reviews to manager.
Maintains cleanliness and organization of entire garden center and gift shop sales floor; does daily walk throughs for items that are out of place, a cause for safety concern, and other items that would interfere with shopping experience standards.
Handles and corrects any customer concerns.
Responsible for store opening and closing procedures.
Ensures that daily, weekly, and monthly tasks are completed in a timely fashion, coordinates full participation including themselves.
Creates visual displays with new and existing merchandise.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Thorough understanding of stores procedures and policies.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to keep accurate records.
Proficient with Microsoft Office or related POS software.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Retail experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Must be able to traverse store to observe physical inventory.
