Job Summary Technology Business Management is a newly established program within Sanford Health s Technology area that will manage and communicate the cost of Information Technology, known within the industry as Technology Business Management (TBM).
This principal position will be responsible for the analysis of IT finance, cost, and other related IT management information to include the IT service catalog, IT contracts, project management office, and architecture.
Responsible for evaluating and supporting IT management systems and tools; capturing, generating, synthesizing, and reporting IT investment life cycle management data; and improving IT financial planning, budgeting, and transactions and reporting workflows and processes.
In addition, this position will support the IT Financial Management (ITFM)/Technology Business Management (TBM) program initiative for Chief Information Officer, System Executive Director, and Technology Leadership.
The ITFM/TBM initiative's overall objective is to develop IT financial, management, and cost data associated with IT investments beyond the finance view to include IT service views and business views.
The goal is to support executive decision-making, thereby leading to improved IT cost transparency, IT investment accountability, and IT value delivery to Sanford s business and mission components.
Develops, implements, and administers IT Financial Management (ITFM)/Technology Business Management (TBM) processes, data, systems, and tools used for planning and life cycle management for IT budgets, assets, and capital resources.
Follows well established and understood financial management best practices within a standardized ITFM/TBM taxonomy and framework.
Provides expert advice related to ITFM/TBM processes, systems, tools, and data to CIO IT portfolio and sub-portfolio owners, applications portfolio, and enterprise architecture components.
Identifies, collects, and analyzes ITFM/TBM related cost, financial, and other related management data.
This includes IT financial, cost, and enterprise architecture data related to business capabilities, services portfolio, functional towers, projects, and enterprise architecture components.
Provides expert guidance in resolving complex problems and/or issues affecting IT financial, cost, and data collection, extraction, and reporting of IT spending and management data.
Collects analytical management data essential to the investment planning, contracts, and project management of CIO portfolios.
Advises and assists Finance with the conceptualization, design, and development of costing methodologies, cost allocation, and variance analysis.
Support the monthly budget and forecast process in managing consumption, chargeback, show back, and savings in collaboration with Finance, Technology, and Business Lines/Operations.
Provides advice and guidance to resolve, implement, or manage ITFM/TBM program, process, data, and technology issues that may arise.
Researches, analyzes, and provides expert technical advice on findings associated with cost optimization opportunities.
Recommendations may relate to complex conclusions drawn from data generated from ITFM/TBM or financial and other management systems and tools to include reports, metrics, dashboards, and related analysis.
Provides substantive supporting data to aid in operational and executive management decision making by working committees and executive management to include CIO, the Operational Leadership Committee, and the Priority Executive Committee.
Capable of motivating and managing organizations as part of cross functional teams to deliver desired results.
This role involves close collaboration with technology, operations, and finance professionals at all levels within the organization.
Determines and documents data mapping rules for movement data between applications.
Adheres to and promotes the use of data administration standards.
Extracts and analyzes data from specific applications, systems, and/or databases to create reports and provide recommendations based on the analysis of the data.
Investigates and resolves data issues across platforms and applications, including discrepancies of definition, format, and function.
May create data models, including robust data definitions, which may be entity-relationship-attribute models, star, or dimensional models.
May be responsible for employing data mining techniques to achieve data synchronization, redundancy elimination, source identification, data reconciliation, and problem root cause analysis.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, healthcare administration, or related field required.
Minimum of seven years experience in Technology required.
Understanding of technology infrastructure domains including data centers, network/communications, server utilization, virtual environment, storage, and application development.
Knowledge of financial management processes and best practices such as cost allocations, capital & operating expense management, program portfolio management, and application/infrastructure support.
Knowledge of large corporate technology operations.
Ability to learn emerging technology trends to develop cost, quality/performance, and value of that technology.
Strong Excel software skills, especially VLOOKUP, IF statements, pivot tables, and macros.
Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI software, SQL database development, and Microsoft Access databases.
Experience with C-Suite communication, presenting, and Technology Business Management tools.
Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or other professional certification is preferred, but not required.
TBM Certification preferred.
