This position is predominantly teaching (70%) and will greatly support the SNRS undergraduate programs, and research and professional degree graduate programs.
Applicants must be willing to teach both in-person and online formats depending on the nature of the course.
The applicant will be expected to teach a mixture of undergraduate, M.
S.
/Ph.
D.
, and Master of Natural Resource Management (MNRM) Professional Degree level courses based on the needs of the School.
Needed courses mainly fall under the umbrella of Natural Resources Management (NRM).

This position will also support advising for NRM undergraduate and MNRM students as part of the teaching component.
The successful candidate will work towards developing a nationally recognized independent research program that builds off of available collaborations within SNRS that support the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station, the State of North Dakota, and the region.
The successful candidate will also be expected to acquire extramural funding to support their research program, and mentoring of M.
S.
and Ph.
D.
students.
The focus of research should be aligned with the programs within SNRS and the college.
However, some particular research areas of interest to SNRS would be surface water issues (e.
g.
quality, ecology, management, restoration, etc.
) and/or natural resource based GIS.
This position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities: 1) Develop a high quality and impactful teaching and advising program; 2) Collaborate with other research programs in the School of Natural Resource Sciences, which include Rangeland Ecology and Wildlife Management, Entomology, Natural Resources Management, and Soil Science along with scientists in other departments and institutions when appropriate; and 3) Develop a research program including publishing in peer-reviewed journals, writing grants, and presentation of results to both the scientific and stakeholder communities Work Schedule: Full-time 12-month appointment Advertised Salary: Commensurate with experience Minimum Qualifications: Ph.

degree in Natural Resources or closely related discipline at the time of hiring.
Demonstrated verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
Demonstrated ability to develop and conduct original research related to natural resources.
Experience in publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
Demonstrated ability to teach and collaborate in a diverse environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience with innovative pedagogical approaches to teaching, and experience advising undergraduate and graduate students from various backgrounds.
Demonstrated experience in online teaching and learning formats.
Experience with the scholarship of teaching and learning (SOTL).
Demonstrated interactions with students, colleagues, land managers, and other stakeholders.
Evidence of grant writing and/or successful acquisition of external funds to support teaching and/or research activities.
