SUMMARY: This position is responsible for purchasing, inventory, food sales, site and equipment maintenance for the Fargo Park District Food & Beverage stands.
This position will also prepare food and work shifts as needed.
This position will be responsible for food sales at multiple Park District facility locations including ice arenas, swimming pools, baseball/softball complexes, golf courses, Fargo Sports Center and other locations as deemed necessary.
Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises seasonal staff for the Food & Beverage operations.
*THIS POSITION REQUIRES AVAILABILITY TO WORK NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS, WITH RARE POSSIBILITY OF A HOLIDAY* ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to: Support the management of the Food & Beverage operations of the Fargo Park District as listed above.
Ensure business development to meet goals and objectives.
Be available during operations hours to handle decisions regarding policy, security, and customer service.
Responsible for executing food and beverage solutions to meet customer needs and tastes.
Delivery of menu items for each food & beverage stand based on program/event needs.
Work with Food & Beverage Manager within budget and pricing to meet goals of cost controls regarding food, beverage, and labor.
Develop and follow inventory schedules for food & beverage stand based on estimated weekly sales.
Regularly evaluate operations through reports and analysis to ensure pricing, menu and inventory is accurate and consistent with Park District policies.
Assist with hiring, training, supervising and discipline of staff associated with each operation.
Provide mentoring of department staff.
Develop a culture with team member to reach customer service goals and financial goals.
Provide training of staff on policies, procedures and safety issues set forth by the Fargo Park District.
Assist in evaluation of performance of staff.
Serve as a liaison between department’s part-time staff, full-time staff, and the public to effectively communicate schedules, rental activity, and site preparations.
Submit necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
Provide maintenance of all food & beverage equipment and cleaning of all food & beverage stands.
Carries out duties and responsibilities to maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees.
Comply with all applicable policies, rules, and regulations in an efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public.
Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
Ensure compliance with regulations and education on industry trends.
OTHER FUNCTIONS: Evaluation of this position may also be based on performance of the following other functions, which include, but are not limited to: Expected to use knowledge and training to make discretionary decisions for program and operations under their direct management.
Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
Assist the Food & Beverage Manager with preparation of program budgets and long-range planning.
Allocate the financial resources for the programs in accordance with park district policies.
Maintain an awareness of and responsibility to the budget for each program.
Utilize the budget to promote growth and expansion in areas of responsibility.
Follow established park district policies and procedures in allocating resources.
Ensure budget, invoices and receipts completed in a timely manner using proper financial principals.
Submit all documentation in a complete and timely manner.
Represent the Fargo Park District at local, state, and national affiliations, organizations, and public presentations.
Representing Fargo Park District at meetings with other professionals.
Remain current with changes and innovations in the industry.
Ensure all inquiries are treated in a professional and courteous manner.
Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.
Experience and Skills: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Accepted education and experience are as follows: High School Diploma required Associates Degree related to hospitality / restaurant management, or closely related field is preferred Two years’ experience in food service operations is required CREDENTIALS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Must possess a valid driver’s license.
