Duties Duties include but are not limited to the following: Serves primarily as the Program Support Assistant to the Social Work Executive and also provides administrative support in the Caregiver Support Program, Healthcare for Homeless Veterans Program (HCHV), Minority Veterans Program, Primary Care, Post 911 Transition and Care Management Programs.
He/she may also offer program assistant support to other programs as directed by the Social Work Executive.
The incumbent provides a complete range of program support which includes customer service coordination, data collection, analysis and scheduling for Social Work clinics.
Prepares, executes and tracks program specific information, such as military treatment facility transfers, cooperative agreements, and Post 911- Transition & Care Management office requests/reports.
Completes the Minority Veterans quarterly program report, month'y caregiver-support data cube.
Provides coverage for the Healthcare for Homeless Program action item suspense's.
The Program Support Assistant will be responsible for scheduling appointments for social work clinics.
In the Caregiver Support Program, the incumbent keeps a data base of all appointments that are scheduled as well as compiles the reports generated.
These reports are uploaded on the National Caregiver Support Program data base.
Responsible for preparation of reports, meeting minutes, memorandums and outgoing correspondence for programs assigned to Social Work.
Coordinates the calendar for the various Social Work Programs keeping track of suspenses's as well as reporting periods.
Manages the Social Work on-call Program.
Coordinate and screen all incoming correspondence and communications for proper distribution within the Social Work Executive office concerning all matters of Social Work and programs that fall under Social Work.
Complete all mandated monthly reporting on the Social Work Emergent Fund.
Maintain files, directives and policies.
Maintain a working datebase of all combat veterans enrolled in the Seamless Transition program as well as a data base for all veterans enrolled in the Caregiver Support Program.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee.
VA may offer newly-appointed Federal employee's credit for their job-related non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service.
This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave.
Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.

Participation in the seasonal influenza program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
It is a requirement that all HCP to receive annual seasonal influenza vaccination or obtain an exemption for medical or religious reasons.
Wearing a face mask is required when an exemption to the influenza vaccination has been granted.
HCP in violation of this directive may face disciplinary action up to and including removal from federal service.
HCP are individuals who, during the influenza season, work in VHA locations or who come into contact with VA patients or other HCP as part of their duties.
VHA locations include, but are not limited to, VA hospitals and associated clinics, community living centers (CLCs), community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs), domiciliaryd without compensation, full- and part-time employees, intermittent employees, fee basis employees, VA contractors, researchers, volunteers and health professions trainees (HPTs) who are expected to perform any or all of their work at these facilities.

HCP also includes VHA personnel providing home-based care to Veterans and drivers and other personnel whose duties put them in contact with patients outside VA medical facilities.
