00 Department Details Position works Monday-Friday 8a-5p; no weekends or holidays.
If you fast-paced but fun and close-knit environment, this is the job for you! The is a scheduling position working both patient-facing and behind the scenes on the phones.
The ability to multi-task and have great attention to detail is a must.
Job Summary Two major functions of the Patient Access Representative (PAR) are patient registration and scheduling.
Depending on setting, the PAR may only perform registration or scheduling duties, while in other settings, the PAR may perform both registration and scheduling duties.
In all settings, the PAR performs additional duties, as assigned.
Duties vary by location/setting.
SCHEDULING Work with nursing team & providers to coordinate & schedule appointments to meet patient s needs, coordinate provider schedule Obtain and coordinate referrals & conduct pre-authorization Arrange interpreter services Check patients in/out Operate multi-line phone May resolve work queue issues, manage recall and waitlists, & serve as switchboard operator calling codes and paging providers ADDITIONAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE Preparation & coordination of charts Organize supporting provider documents Initiation & collaboration of patient financial assistance Track patient visits & health information management on patient accounts Compile, distribute, administer, and score assessments Coordination of Telemed appointments Reminder calls for appointments Hospital admission Office duties, such as make copies or send faxes Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Post-secondary education helpful.
One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential.
Six months' customer service experience desired.
May require BLS for certain locations and/or settings.
