Pharmacy Clerk

Overview: Starting Pay: $15.
45 - $18.
15 DOE Full time position working 72 - 80 hours per 2 weeks.
This position is scheduled Monday - Friday, with no weekends and no holidays Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Manager or the registered pharmacist on duty and according to standard procedure, assists pharmacy staff with recordkeeping, billing, inventory management and any other duties not reserved to pharmacy technicians or pharmacists.
Responsibilities: Reviews charts and manual adds drug charges when appropriate.
Verifies patient account and billing information on a daily basis.
Does patient account entry corrections when indicated.
Works with billing department on patient account issues.
Maintains inventory including ordering, receiving, and restocking.
Is responsible for keeping up-to-date on drug shortages and proper acquisition for hard to acquire items.
Maintains proper coding and processing of all invoices.
Charges drug entries for outside pharmacies when requested.
Maintains ordering system computer database with current data.
Organizes outdated or overstocked medications to ship back to manufacturers for credit.
Maintains specified pharmacy computer databases and reports.
(ie floor stock lists, latex lists) Disseminates updated lists to nursing units when requested.
Maintains the department in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
Maintains and completes month-end tallies and quality assurance assignments as requested by pharmacy manager.
Checks and maintain temperature monitoring on a daily basis.
Performs other clerical duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High school level of education.
Bookkeeping training or health care experience desirable.
This position requires a background check.
