Position Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to travel to customers to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair their equipment and equipment components in the field.
Your Primary Job Duties:
Travel to customer locations to perform in-field service tasks including but not limited to troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of equipment and equipment components.
Consult with the service manager if diagnosed repairs that are unsuitable for in-field conditions.
Maintain a productive and professional relationship with customers throughout the service call experience.
Communicate with customer throughout the service call to ensure they are well-informed of the troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair decisions for their equipment.
Effectively document all work performed within the customer work order.
Follow all company and safety protocols for in-field work including check-in procedures.
Ensure the field service vehicle is well-maintained, clean, organized and stocked with the appropriate parts inventory.
Work with the parts team to stock and restock parts and materials required for field service work.
When fieldwork is unavailable, work in-house/on-location at the Swanston dealership.
Complete all required and requested company and manufacturer training.
Follow all lone worker safety guidelines to ensure greatest focus on safety while in the field.
Travel to all Swanston dealership locations to work in and assist the service department as needed.
Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned.
Your knowledge, skills, abilities, and more:
High School Diploma or GED required.
3+ years of industry specific work experience preferred.
A valid driver’s license with Class-A CDL and maintain all valid CDL requirements.
Maintain compliance with all applicable FMCSA and DOT requirements.
Proficient computer skills with the ability to effectively use the Internet, email, Microsoft Office products, etc.
Possess a complete set of tools and a toolbox or road box.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong self-starter with the ability to be self-motivated to work independently.
Strong organizational skills.
Proven track record of a strong attention to detail and quality work.
Strong diagnostics and troubleshooting skills.
Desire to learn new things and think outside the box.
Adherence to the company core values, mission, vision, policies, and procedures.
Physical Requirements:
Sit: 10%
Stand, bend, stoop, crouch, twist: 90%
Travel: 80% to customers and all Swanston locations
Work Environment: Indoors and outdoors, extreme hot and cold environments
Noise: Medium
