00 Department Details Monday-Friday, hours can be modified/set based on availability of candidate between the hours of 8-5pm.
Looking for 30-40 hours a week.
Scrubs of any color/pattern top/bottom with tennis shoes.
Must be reliable, able to be a self-starter/motivator and able to multitask.
Job Summary Perform day to day tasks to maintain a clean environment in a health care organization.
Work independently or work in a team environment ensuring that use of equipment, methods, and techniques to handle laundry safely and appropriately such as; sorting, washing, any chemical application, or water temperature.
The Laundry Technician will also be cross trained to assist in Housekeeping/building cleaning if/when necessary as an Environmental Service Technician.
Depending upon the location, complete assigned tasks based on that locations standard processes and policies.
Follow infection prevention guidelines to handling contaminated laundry according to organizational and healthcare industrial laundry standards.
Participate in laundry collection and sorting, as well as the handling, storage and distribution of clean laundry properly based on that locations standard processes and policies.
Depending upon the location, collect dirty linens (including but not limited to gowns, sheets, towels, blankets, and personal clothing) from wards, rooms, and medical offices; distributes clean and disinfected linens.
Based on that locations standard processes and policies will complete some of the following tasks; washing, drying, folding linens, sort and fold clothing, and complete the proper labeling process for the designated health care organization.
Depending on location will store and secure laundry supplies and equipment of a healthcare organization.
The Laundry Technician will also be cross trained to assist in Housekeeping/building cleaning if/when necessary as an Environmental Service Technician.
All proper protective equipment (PPE) is to be used or worn as outlined in that locations standard processes and policies.
Physical activities include but not limited to, considerable use of arms and legs and moving of whole body; such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 30-50lbs and push/pull up to 500lbs on flat surfaces or up and down ramps.
This position will require the individual to be on their feet for the majority of their shift.
May be exposed to certain levels of noise with the equipment in operation.
Depending on location of position, work hours will vary depending on resident needs.
May include occasional weekends to make up if time missed during the week.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to use a computer, prior cleaning experience in a healthcare setting, knowledge of materials, equipment and methods used in cleaning is helpful.
Depending on location, must have a valid driver s license and have a good driving record.
