This position provides nursing care, coordinates assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation of quality patient care that is consistent with the philosophy, objectives, policies, standards and bylaws of the hospital in all modalities of the Radiology Department.
Performs patient assessment before, during, and post procedure and reports abnormal findings and changes to the radiologist.
Has knowledge of medications, their uses, and administration of those medications in the interventional lab.
Completes, reviews, and evaluates data collected.
Performs documentation in patient record which is timely, accurate and concise (signs and symptoms, lab data, and patient care plan).
Serves as patient advocate.
Develops a plan of care, appropriate to the age of the patient, and identifies patient/family learning needs.
Designs and implements the appropriate teaching strategies from admission to discharge.
Assists with contrast reactions, codes, and patient injuries wherever needed in the Radiology department.
Assists in orienting new staff.
Assists with transporting patients and communicates patients’ status to primary care nurse whenever needed.
Provides radiation protection to self and patient following established protocols.
Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.

Education/Special Skills: To perform in this position requires the incumbent to be a graduate of a school of nursing with current licensure in Minnesota.
Minimum of six months experience working as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
Experience in Interventional Radiology preferred.
ACLS certification required.
This position requires current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months.
Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to promote/maintain teamwork internally and externally.
