JOB SUMMARY
*Part-time opportunity working mornings and every other weekend as a CNA/Direct Support Professional*
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) position is to perform supervised tasks related to
delivery of health and personal cares, therapeutic, behavioral, recreational, and leisure activities for the adults in Taylor Made Living (TML), contributing to the overall Individual Service Plan (ISP), positive behavior support (PBS) plan, and individual specific plans.
QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)
Education and/or years’ experience required:
• High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred/Required Skills and Abilities:
• Prefer minimum one-year experience in the area of Developmental Disabilities
• Ability to learn and comprehend terminology related to the position.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing; able to follow verbal and written instructions, and problem solve effectively with individuals, staff, and family members.
• Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, having integrity, being tactful, courteous, and sensitive with internal and external contacts.
Must be able to adapt to rapid change, and must be able to intervene promptly in crisis/emergency situations.
• Equipment used: Understand and have a basic working knowledge of a computer or be willing to learn, as well as communication devices and other assistive technology.
Supervision of others/decision making aptitude (if applicable): This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
