This is a part-time or temporary non-benefited position.
Description & Details: Animal procurement and scheduling Communicate directly with local animal shelters/rescues/breeders to coordinate animal use, numbers of animals to be housed in Robinson Hall, length of stay, and drop/off pick up Maintain an appropriate animal use schedule to ensure adequate numbers of animals are available for course requirements/needs Utilize veterinary computer software (*IDEXX Cornerstone) to schedule animals both from within the program and department (students/faculty) for the VETS 483 Clinical Practicum Course Animal care and feeding Provide oversight and coordination of animal care in all realms, including but not limited to: feeding, preventative care, and all aspects of husbandry Provide hands on technician assistance for all forms of veterinary services Work closely with the program veterinarian to ensure all animal are cared for appropriately Work with the VTP team to meet all Institute for Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) standards Monitor animal medical records to ensure accuracy and completion Maintain appropriate levels of animal food, bedding, and supplies Inventory and ordering Maintain/order inventory of pet food, bedding, enrichment items, treats, etc.
Maintain/order inventory of medical supplies and drugs for program course use Maintain/order inventory of Robinson Hall facility care and cleaning supplies General duties Assess, repair, or order repair (work orders) for all facility maintenance Maintain, process, and send billing to Robinson Hall Wellness Clinic Clients through Cornerstone veterinary management system, including animals within Robinson Hall from rescue organizations Other duties as assigned Work Schedule: This position is part-time (20 hours/week), with the ideal candidate working 4 hours/day, 5 days/week.
