Summary of Work
The Cass Human Service Zone Family Services Department serves to ensure the safety, permanency and well-being of children and families in our community.
The Case Manager Supervisor provides program and personnel support to In-Home and Foster Care Case Managers in our Family Services Department.
The Case Manager Supervisor provides direct supervision to a team of In-Home and Foster Care Case Managers.
This position maintains responsibilities of a highly complex and sensitive nature and requires a high degree of knowledge, skills, and passion in child welfare.
Work activities involve decision-making within parameters of approved policies and procedures and management of team members through supervision.
Thorough, accurate and timely response and documentation are required skills.
This position requires coordination with local service providers, law enforcement and legal entities, as well as emergency response planning.
Zone business hours are 8 a.
m.
to 5 p.
m.
Monday through Friday.
This position requires some afterhours/non-traditional working hours, including support of on-call team members.
Frequent travel throughout Cass County, and occasional intrastate travel, is required.
Case Manager Supervisor - Example of Duties
Provide program administration and case staffing of in-home and foster care cases
Provide training and consultation to team members
Participate in strategic planning for Family Services team members
Monitor cases to ensure adherence to Federal, State and local policies and procedures
Ensure timely and accurate program and policy information and utilization of Safety Framework Practice Model within case activities of team members
Complete performance reviews and personnel activities in alignment with Zone policy
Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of team members
Collaborate with State, County and Zone partners for development and implementation of child welfare policy and practice to ensure exceptional delivery of services

Minimum Qualifications
This position requires a bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science, or criminal justice; -and-
Three (3) years of professional work experience as foster care licenser, social worker, CPS worker, or professional case manager; -plus-
One (1) year of lead work or supervisory experience
A LBSW is preferred, but not required for this position.
