*POSITION SUMMARY:* The heavy haul truck driver is a CDL-qualified position responsible for the transportation of all classes of machinery, parts, and engines; including over-sized and overweight loads and other cargo associated with the daily operation of the company utilizing vehicles with multiple axle configurations.
*ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*: May include but are not limited to the ability to: · Haul overweight, over-dimension, and super loads both locally and over the road.
· Understand axle weight distribution and adjust accordingly · Knowledge of seasonal road restrictions and bridge laws pertaining to tractor/trailer combinations and heavy equipment.
· Complete job tickets, timecards, and paperwork accurately and promptly · Secures required customer signatures on all shipping documents to include rental and sale contracts and load sheets · Ensure contents are properly secured to prevent damage/injury using straps, chains, covers, etc.
· Maintain electronic logs in accordance with FMCSA/DOT Rules & Regulations · Conducts daily Driver Vehicle Inspections required by FMCSA/DOT · Maintain accurate reporting of all expenses and receipts associated with the day to day use of company credit cards and fuels cards.
· Report all incidents, injuries, and/or accidents immediately to supervisor or Safety Director · Performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance to transport equipment to ensure vehicle is in safe operating condition and ready for next-day business to include fueling and pre-loading whenever possible · Work both indoors and outdoors during all seasons/months of the year · Complete and keep current all training and certificates as required by Borsheim Crane Service, LLC, Federal Agencies, and our Customers.
· Participate in Safety meetings and training.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
*ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:* · Class A CDL (required) accompanied with a clean driving record (preferred.
) · Must have a current DOT medical card.
· Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
· Flexible schedule, able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
· Experience in operating equipment and loading/unloading equipment.
· Familiar with manual and hydraulic RGNs.
· Familiar with oversize loads and permits.
· Minimum of 2 years of heavy haul driving experience (required).
*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:* · Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions.
· Good organizational and time management skills · Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity · Patience, good judgement, attention to detail · Physical Demands: o Vision/Sight: Able to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, focus, and assess surroundings.
o Stand, walk, and use hands/fingers to handle or feel: To operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, and position equipment, tools, etc.
o Sit: Ability to sit while driving/traveling to work locations.
o Climb (equipment) and balance: Able to ascend/descend and work atop to service equipment.
o Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: Ability to position oneself and to move freely.
o Talk and Hear: Ability to communicate, detect, converse with others, discern, convey, express oneself, and exchange information.
o Carry weight, lift: Ability to move, transport, position, put/install, and remove parts, equipment, and tools that are 70 lbs.
