WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR Enclave's General Counsel is responsible for overseeing and managing all legal matters within the Development division as well as supporting other divisions as necessary with legal counsel.
This individual will play a key role in providing strategic legal advice, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES Legal Advisory Provide legal advice and guidance to senior management and staff on a wide range of issues related to real estate transactions, development, and operations Analyze complex legal issues, assess potential risks, and offer strategic solutions Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of real estate contracts, including purchase agreements, leases, financing documents, operating/partnership agreements and joint venture agreements Ensure that contracts comply with legal requirements and protect the organization's interests Stay abreast of federal, state, and local laws and regulations impacting the real estate industry Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure the organization's adherence to legal requirements Oversee and manage any legal disputes or litigation involving the organization Work with external legal counsel as needed, and develop strategies for external legal counsel to support transactions and resolve disputes efficiently Conduct title/survey and other legal due diligence, assess legal risks, ensure all necessary documentation is in order and otherwise support real estate transactions and closings Develop and implement company policies and procedures related to legal compliance matters within the real estate context Corporate Governance Ensure organization-wide compliance with corporate governance requirements and advise on matters related to project entity governance and investor relations Develop and implement strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with real estate activities Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions within the real estate sector Promote ethical behavior and corporate social responsibility within the organization Other Supervise and/or assist staff directly involved with real estate transactions and closings Perform other duties as assigned All employees are responsible for the general upkeep of work and shared spaced Punctual and regular attendance is required of all employees KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | ABILITIES Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active law license Extensive experience in real estate law, with an emphasis on transactions, development land use and/or entity formation and governance 10+ years of relevant legal practice Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance issues in the real estate industry Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical requirements listed here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Prolonged period sitting at a desk and working on a computer Position involves standing and walking for extended periods of time while working at the jobsite and occasional lifting of heavy objects and sitting at computers.

Occasional standing, bending, walking, and lifting are also required.
