This position will be responsible for developing, growing, and enhancing sales within the institutional market segments which includes schools (public & private) and health care facilities (independent & chain accounts).
Territory will include (but is not limited to), North Dakota, South Dakota, and Western Minnesota.
This position reports to the Corporate Institutional Sales Department Manager, and will collaborate with the Sales Team, Multi-Unit Account Team, and work with other departments.
Duties and Responsibilities
Below is a listing of four major focus areas and responsibilities
Program Development and Support
Maintain current CWD programs while continually reviewing for opportunities.
Review program product stocking lists and evaluate new products
Maintain stocking lists, common order guides, etc.
Work with Purchasing to identify and coordinate a smooth rollout of new products.
Ensure products are uploaded into company systems.
Work with Marketing to create flyers and education pieces.
Develop training materials & customer resources.
Provide training for CWD Sales Team and customers including presentations.
Health Care Only: Assist with maintenance of the CWD Health Care Programs including menu sales and support, updating seasonal menus, and facilitating menu billing.
Business Development
Create and maintain a Business Development Plan aligned with corporate goals.
Develop business relationships with schools, independent healthcare facilities, regional chains and GPO partners.
Evaluate profitability of target accounts.
Call on and develop new accounts including giving presentations.
Work with Bid Coordinators to generate and submit bids and proposals.
Coordinate onboarding of new accounts and facilitate the transition of business to CWD.
Existing Account Maintenance
Maintain relationships with assigned accounts which includes supporting the Multi Unit Accounts Department as necessary
Audit Contract Pricing
Keep customer information in Customer Relationship Management System (CRM).
Consult with customers as needed.
Attend and/or facilitate customer meetings.
Review accounts, generate product optimization reports, and develop plans for account penetration with a focus on non-foods such as disposables, janitorial products, chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
Conduct business reviews.
Evaluate and report on the profitability of accounts and account penetration.
Public Relations
Assist in planning for and participating in meetings and trade shows which include CWD sponsored events as well as regional and state events for trade shows, educational seminars, foodservice events, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training/Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent required; advanced degree in Health Care, Nutrition or Dietetics preferred.
3 years of experience with sales and/or foodservice preferred.
Knowledge of the National School Lunch Program and the Child & Adult Care Food Program, and health care industry regulations preferred.
Understands the market area including the industry, customers, and competitors.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and required insurance.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent organizational skills, critical thinking, strong analytical skills, and ability to prioritize required.

Ability to work independently.
Detail oriented.
Strong communication skills to include individual settings and presentations to small and large groups.
Basic computer skills required with an emphasis on strong Excel skills and the ability to embrace technology.
Travel: Significant travel to include overnight stays
