On Premise Sales Manager
Viking Coca-Cola, a family owned independent bottler and distributor based in St Cloud, MN is accepting applications for an West Region On Premise Sales Manager for our Alexandria, Brainerd and Fergus Falls MN locations.
The position may reside in one of the three locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Studies and implements ways of developing each cold drink account to its maximum sales potential.
Actively solicits new cold drink accounts when applicable.
Instills a territorial 'protect" and "expand" mentality into the Cold Drink Account Manager.
Periodically follows-up with new and existing accounts to see that everything is in order and the dealers' needs are being fulfilled.
Ensures follow-through on any sales leads received.
Consistently works with the Cold Drink Account Manager to develop ways to expand current accounts to their maximum sales potential.
Solicits and places cold drink equipment on a profitable basis in old as well as in new accounts, through the Cold Drink sales force.
Keeps Tele-Sell Representatives, Route Sales Reps and Merchandisers advised of sales programs that are available and what follow-through will be expected of them, through their supervisors.
Helps develop programs and procedures for expanding the cold drink segment of the market.
Assures that cold drink equipment is updated and in best possible repair.
Sells the accounts on our products and packages by selling benefits such as products, profit, service and people.
Works with the sales supervisors, Tele-Sell Representatives, customer service representatives and route merchandisers to see that every member of the team is doing his part in achieving maximum sales results.
Keeps management informed of changes, tools, equipment and programs needed to be more effective.
Keeps abreast of competitive policies, procedures, and promotions.
Develops and manages incentive programs to be used during special emphasis periods.
Evaluates equipment placements for non-profitable full service accounts.
Has a working knowledge of the routing structure.
Handles any complaints effectively and efficiently.
Sets up and schedules ways and means of spot checking problem areas.
Keeps required reports up to date and submitted on time.
Promotes and enforces a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA and company policies and procedures with efforts to reduce work-related injuries.
Upholds the company's image by conducting business with integrity and professionalism.
Participates in the development of department goals and objectives.
Supervises direct reports including hiring, coaching, terminating, performance feedback, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.
Ensures that company management principles, policies and programs are consistently practiced and enforced.
Facilitates teamwork with all staff members to drive compliance and better utilization/control.
Fosters a cooperative and harmonious working climate that maximizes employee morale and productivity.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Evaluates the profitability of all equipment placements
Manages our agreements as they are implemented and renewed
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree in marketing or related field is preferred.
Requires minimum 5-10 years of experience in developing marketing strategies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Requires excellent oral communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, problem-solve, listen to customer and employee concerns and make presentations.
Requires strong writing skills to prepare communications, complete paperwork and prepare proposals.
Requires organization skills to manage time effectively and execute responsibilities.
Requires ability to perform advanced trade math functions.
Requires basic computer skills, proficiency with excel and power point a plus.
Requires strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound business decisions.
A valid class D driver's license is required with satisfactory completion of Motor Vehicle Check according to Vehicle Safety Policy.
Previous experience with supervision and budgets helpful.
Previous experience in the food and beverage industry helpful.
