Position Summary Responsible for assisting the Corps and the Kettle Coordinator with managing the Christmas Kettle fundraising campaign.
This requires supervision of paid staff, drivers, and volunteers.
This is an hourly seasonal position, ending on or about January 8th, with a workweek expectation of up to 30 hours per week, including some evenings and Saturdays, and this position is without benefits.
Qualifications .
High School diploma or GED required, experience in emergency services helpful.

Must have excellent organization and communication skills.

Flexible schedule; some evenings and Saturdays.

Collaborate with the Kettle Coordinator throughout the campaign .
Valid Driver's License.
(Must meet the guidelines provided by the State of residence and the automobile insurance provider as pertaining to corps' passenger vans/buses.

Must pass The Salvation Army background checks and meet the MVR driver's qualifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities This job description is not all inclusive.

Support the Mission of The Salvation Army by treating every client, donor, and colleague with respect and dignity, and without discrimination of any kind Supervising Bell Ringers Assist Kettle Coordinator with orientation for all Kettle Drivers and Bell Ringers Schedule and place ringers where sites are not covered by volunteers or groups Hold daily ringer meetings setting the tone for the day and handle any housekeeping issues Have devotions with Bell Ringers before sending them out Handle disciplinary problems with the assistance of the Volunteer Coordinator Keep accurate time sheets on paid kettle workers and drivers Daily Kettle Schedules Print kettle schedules for current day for Drivers Take calls regarding scheduled times and scheduling conflicts Organize drivers for Kettle Routes to deliver/pick up kettles as needed Coordinate daily site check through the day to ensure that Bell Ringers are present/working, and that drivers are following procedures for pick-up/drop-offs Supervising Volunteer Sorters Ensure good communication and relations with all volunteer sorters Instruct volunteers of their duties as sorters Counter Kettles Distribute to locations at the beginning of the season Empty them on a weekly basis, checking in with the manager or point person at the location Pick up at the end of the season Additional Functions Assist in sorting money as needed Responsible for securing money in safe Fill in on routes as needed Other duties as assigned Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added or changed at any time at the discretion of the Volunteer Coordinator and/or the Kettle Campaign Coordinator, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
Workers must report suspected or observed misconduct by other workers to the program leader or officer/administrator immediately.
Working Environment The work environment varies from office to outdoors, with light to high noise levels, varied temperatures, and weather conditions.

Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

The incumbent is required to travel by personal vehicle, organization vehicle or other mode of travel as required supporting the mission of The Salvation Army.

Ability to perform basic math skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and percentages.
