This position will be located in: Nashville , TN Job Summary Leads technical sales efforts in creating demand and securing orders for key technical lines in our business.
Responsible for calls on relevant accounts, consults with customers on product and system applications.
Develops marketing plans and strategies in collaboration with Account Managers and utility leadership.
Works with support staff to ensure they are providing the technical product support needed by branch resources and customers.
Responsibilities Essential Functions Documents and tracks sales pipeline for Aclara Metering.
Advises management on the implementation and success of Aclara Metering marketing plans and strategies.
Responsible for sales strategy for Aclara Metering focus area.
Mentors new hires and assists coworkers to learn the Aclara Metering market.
Provides customers with timely follow-up on quotations, technical inquiries, and other requests.
Provides continuous contact and interaction with customer’s engineering staff and consultants.
Maintains an in-depth understanding of the power grid and it’s digital connectivity infrastructure.
Works with the support staff on technically difficult problems where engineering concepts are needed.
Works with a broad range of products and services.
Specifically, Aclara Metering products.
Promotes technical support for the customer and other outside sales staff and plays an active role in engaging consultants throughout the territory.
Contributes input to other sales and marketing staff on customer needs and concerns regarding pricing, products, competition, procedures, and market potential.
Inputs TCCM cost savings documentation that is relevant to the assigned customer base.
Evaluates new products and makes recommendations on stock levels for new and existing products.
Provides input to the pricing and purchasing departments on product evaluations, inventory management, pricing developments, and other related functions.
Performs product updates and new product launches for branches and customers as required.
Attends and assists with sales meetings, trade shows and training programs as needed.
Non-essential Functions Leads customer and Border States employee training on new and existing Aclara product lines and applications.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor or designate.
Qualifications Engineering degree required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience with all technical and business aspects of the Aclara Metering focus area.
Expertise with utility metering requirements and standards.
Aclara Metering experience is preferred.
Skills and Abilities Proficient customer service skills include being competent, accurate, responsive, and engaged.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and customer service skills are preferred with the ability to effectively plan, organize, and present.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
