Description & Details:
The NDSU Department of Communication is seeking a motivated and creative NDSU student to serve as a part-time Social Media Assistant.
In this position, you will be responsible for helping to manage the department’s social media presence by fostering engagement with both current and prospective students.
Your duties will include: helping to manage the department’s Facebook, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, and Instagram accounts.
Identifying stories and events to help promote the NDSU Department of Communication.
Formulating recommendations for the adoption of additional social media platforms or developing current platforms.
Developing new and creative ways for the department to engage with prospective and current students.
Being available on nights and weekends to capture events to share on social media.
Engaging with Department of Communication faculty, students, and clubs to keep current on departmental events and initiatives.
Work Schedule:
7-10 hours per week.
Advertised Pay:
$11 per hour
Minimum Qualifications:
Sophomore standing or higher (full-time student and remain in good academic standing).
Strong communication skills.
Passion for social media and knowledge of social media writing.
Articulate, professional, and responsible.
Interest in department programs, clubs, and events.
Creative and entrepreneurial spirit.
Basic photography and videography skills.
Willingness to become familiar with and follow the department’s social media guidelines and create an events and social media calendar for the department.
