Lead Cook’s lead and manage the day-to-day operations at an individual school or feeding site.
Lead Cook’s are
required to ensure high standards for safety/sanitation and meal quality.
In addition, they supervise site employees,
place or review food/supply orders, account for site services, ala carte sales and inventory.
Manage their site in
accordance with district policies,department procedures, Federal and State guidelines.
Understands basic knowledge
of the USDA child nutrition requirements.
Hours Of Work:
● Monday - Friday, Typically 8 hour shift for 185 days a year (depending on contract)
● Special Events, as needed
Dress Code:
● Appropriate, clean jeans or khakis, school issued uniform shirt, hair restraint, comfortable closed shoe, and
limited jewelry.
No nail polish, sweatpants, yoga or stretchy pants, capri’s, shorts, or tank tops.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Culinary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience that would demonstrate knowledge,
abilities, and skills that will apply in a K-12 nutrition service setting
● Marketing experience
● SNA Level 4
● Catering experience
