Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Plasma/Machine Operator to join our team.
As a Plasma/Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of machinery to produce high-quality products.
The Operator will be responsible for the plasma table, press brake, and saws.
This position is vital to our manufacturing process, ensuring production runs smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
* Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
* Operate plasma table to produce parts to customer specifications.
* Operate previously set up machine, for bending steel.
* Operate saw to process material to customer specifications.
* Lifts work pieces manually or with hoist and positions and secure them on machine table in a jig or holding fixture.
* Moves machine controls to feed tools into the workpiece and engages automatic feed.
* Observes machine operation and verifies conformance of work piece to specifications, using fixed gauges, calipers and micrometers.
* Read all measuring devices including rules, tapes, micrometers, and calipers.
* Changes worn cutting tools using wrenches.
* Moves controls to adjust cutting speeds, feed rates and depth of cut.
* May assist Machine Setter in setting up the machine.
* May sharpen cutting tools using drill sharpener and tool sharpener.
* May perform minor assembly, such as fastening parts with nuts, bolts, and screws using power tools and hand tools.
* Prepare parts for shipment.
* Change gas tanks and consumables as needed.
Education:
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
* Three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Environment:
* Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles
* Frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
* Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock
* Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
