Drive commercially licensed Asphalt Distributor for the purpose of applying tack or bond coat to the road surface while performing duties in a safe and efficient manner.
This position will begin at the start of the 2024 season, approximately mid-April to early May depending on weather.
Duties and responsibilities
Perform pre-trip inspection according to DOT regulations.
Must be able to kneel, reach, and maneuver under the truck with approximately 2 feet of clearance to properly inspect and/or repair the truck/trailer.
Operate an Asphalt Distributor Truck for the asphalt paving crew
Fuel and grease truck
Load and shoot oils in designated areas and assist asphalt paving crew in other capacities
Safe operation of heavy construction equipment
Comply with company and DOT Drug & Alcohol regulations.
Comply with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations
Follow the supervisor’s instructions on material and/or equipment pickup and delivery procedures
All other duties as assigned, delegated, or necessary for operations
Qualifications
One year of commercial driving experience is required
Possess a valid Class A Commercial driver’s license (CDL)
Possess a Tanker endorsement on the CDL
Meet the federal commercial medical requirement
Ability to pass a pre-employment urine drug test and comply with drug and alcohol policies during employment
Working conditions
Outdoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperatures
Occasional exposures to fumes, dust, odors, heights, and loud noises.
May be required to work 60+ hours, 6 or more days a week.

Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner.
Clarity of vision at varying distances to perform various work assignments.
Standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods of time.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment.
Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally.
Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching.
Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 50 pounds
