About the Opportunity
Tomlinson Schultz is seeking positive and hardworking Carpenters to join a high-performing team, building homes in the Detroit Lakes, MN and Fargo, ND areas.
The position is an ideal fit for a self-motivated, adaptable person who can maintain strong attention to detail.
You will be a key player on the Tomlinson Schultz team, helping to bring client’s dreams to life through collaboration, personal accountability, and high-quality work.
Responsibilities:
* Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely and report any equipment performance issues or failures to management
* Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
* Participate in day-to-day tasks such as: Installing siding and roofing materials; Framing and securing footings for structures; Installing windows and doors; Sheetrocking and finishing of interior walls
* Interact in a positive and respectful manner with clients and fellow employees
* Share knowledge, skills, and observations with team
* Stay within construction plans and blueprint guidelines to ensure structures will be safe and according to code regulations
* Work independently to complete tasks and take initiative to problem-solve
* Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
* Account for all time on a timecard and for all material used in performing assigned duties
* Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* Good communication skills (written and verbal)
* Positive, coachable attitude
* Ability to use a forklift/skid loader (certification preferred but not required)
* Construction, carpentry, or framing experience preferred
* High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
Physical and Other Requirements:
* Frequent bending and stooping
* Ability to repeatedly lift up to 25 lbs.
, occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
* Standing or kneeling for extended periods of time
* Occasional work outdoors in heat, cold, rain and/or snow
* Occasional work on ladders and/or confined spaces
* Ability to work extended hours, if needed
* Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record required
Salary and Benefits
* 40-hour work week, half day on Fridays
