Electronic Design Engineer

com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at John Deere's facility in Fargo, ND.
As a member of our team, the selected candidate will work with partners that have design control of RF products to make necessary changes to circuit design, components, production processes and/or testers.
Evaluate products that do not meet specifications to look for improvements in quality, delivery, and cost performance.
Perform investigation, design of experiment, detailed worst-case analog and digital circuit analysis, simulation, integration, and verification for projects basic in scope.
Select components based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
Communicate findings and/or takes action based on these analyses.
Operate in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews.
Develop recommendations within established guidelines; work and decisions are reviewed by supervisors before implementation This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.
Duties: Skilled in establishing strong working relationships, gaining trust with partners that have design control of RF products and with production personnel.
Apply existing design solutions to routine problems.
Produce and/or evaluate possible solutions for electronic assemblies to improve cost, quality and performance based on design knowledge of engineering applications together with the involvement of manufacturing, mechanical, software and other functional engineers, supply management and supplier personnel.
Analyze, read, and understand technical requirements written by others to determine the best technical solution for routine problems or projects.
Compile and furnish necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent data analyses) to document the solution required for continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities and adopting design changes developed with other functional engineers, supply management and supplier personnel.
Learn and apply Company engineering policies and practices.
Learn Company products.
Execute test or analysis plan for product verification and validation.
Requirements: Minimum B.
S.
degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering program.
Understanding of RF theory, satellite communications, GPS receiver system-level design, RF design, GPS signal processing & navigation.
Skilled in influencing without authority.
Strong communications skills.
Ability to technically comprehend microprocessor-based embedded electronic, software, and mechanical packaging designs and requirements.
Ability to technically comprehend testing, manufacturing, quality control, and marketing requirements.
Ability to perform routine engineering work requiring application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out engineering tasks.
Able to make preliminary selections or adaptations of engineering alternatives.
Ability to provide mentoring and training to technicians, increasing their technical ability.
Ability to interface with customers with guidance from supervisor.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).
Experience in electronic circuit design Ability to work hours of first shift 8am-5pm (but flexible).
Years of Experience - 3-5 years.
Preferred Skills: Experience with Pspice or other circuit simulation tools.
Experience with MathCAD.
Experience with Mentor Graphics or other schematic capture tools.
Experience with designing harsh environmental specifications.
Experience with 8-, 16- or 32-bit micro controllers.
