Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team.
As a Low Voltage Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing low voltage systems such as electrical, security, and telecommunications systems.
Your expertise in low voltage technology will ensure the proper functioning and safety of these systems.
Responsibilities:
- Install and configure low voltage systems, including electrical wiring, CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and telecommunication equipment
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on low voltage systems to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with low voltage systems using schematics and technical manuals
- Collaborate with clients to determine their specific low voltage system needs
- Provide recommendations for system upgrades or enhancements based on industry best practices
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Conduct system testing to verify functionality and identify any potential issues
- Train end-users on the operation and maintenance of low voltage systems
- Maintain accurate documentation of all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or similar role
- Strong knowledge of low voltage systems, including electrical wiring, CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and telecommunication equipment
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant codes and regulations
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repairing equipment
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
- Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose issues with low voltage systems
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate installation and maintenance
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with clients and train end-users
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in alarm system sales or locksmithing is a plus
- Proficiency in cabling techniques for low voltage systems
