Position Role Type:
Onsite
A systems engineer in this position will work closely with engineers supporting the development of aircraft mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic systems integration and test, communication, networking & computing or requirements decomposition and traceability.
Specific tasks may include technical trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications, documentation review and update, testing of recent engineering releases, analysis & documentation of problem trouble reports found during testing, providing written and verbal status of testing progress to the concurrent engineering team and providing suggestions for problem trouble report resolution.
In addition, you will be working cross functionally with Customer Teams, HW & SW Designers, Test Engineers & Technicians, Supply Chain, Production & Quality, Field Service Engineers, FAA and Airline Customers and OEMs.
This position would ideally be a hybrid role in Jamestown, ND.
Current expectations would be to work onsite between 1-3 days per week.
However, the amount of onsite days per week could fluctuate between 2-4 days in the office in the future depending on business needs.
This position may be eligible for relocation.
However, we may consider a remote option for an ideal candidate.
Primary Responsibilities: Aids in overall project requirements, reliability, logistics, coordination of different teams, evaluation measurements, and other disciplines for large or complex projects.
Manages individual work schedule Provides analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements.
Performs analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
Aids in performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Aids in configuration process, performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Aids in ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs architectural exploration.
Decomposes customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements and generates verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
Qualifications/Experience Needed: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience with any one of the following: RTCA DO-178, DO-254, DO-330 and DO-331 Cameo, MATLAB and Simulink or equivalent systems modeling software DOORS, Polarion, Jama or equivalent Collins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry.
