\*\*\*\** *Introduction* West Central Minnesota Communities Action is in search of a dedicated and highly organized individual to join our team as a Head Start Administrative Assistant, focusing exclusively on providing comprehensive support for program nutrition and CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) administration and monitoring.
*Primary Responsibilities* In this role, you will assume a pivotal position responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our Head Start program by effectively managing essential administrative tasks related to nutrition, child health screenings, recordkeeping, and program compliance.

*Qualifications* • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in administrative roles, particularly within a nutrition-focused or CACFP-related context, is highly advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Proficiency in record-keeping, data entry, and generating accurate reports.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining program compliance.
• Proficient in using computer applications, including spreadsheets and database software.
• Proof of valid driver’s license and current/adequate vehicle insurance coverage.
• One (1) year of work-related experience.
• Experience with billing and purchase orders • General knowledge of the Child and Adult Care Food Program • Demonstrated understanding of diverse backgrounds and cultures *Manages the following positions:* None *Essential Functions* 1.
Collaborate with the Head Start Supervisor-Health to implement and oversee nutrition initiatives in alignment with CACFP guidelines.
2.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of meal program participation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements including CACFP meal pattern requirements.
3.
Prepare and submit the necessary documentation for CACFP reimbursement, demonstrating attention to detail.
4.
Assist the Head Start Nutrition Consultant and Head Start Health Supervisor in monitoring program compliance with nutrition and food safety standards, making recommendations for improvements as needed to contracted vendors or direct food service personnel.
5.
Assist in organizing nutrition-related training sessions for program staff, fostering a culture of awareness and education.
6.
Conduct regular audits to ensure the proper utilization of program funds allocated for nutrition and maintain documentation required for all Head Start audits or reviews.
7.
Generate reports and summaries on program nutrition and CACFP participation for internal and external stakeholders.
8.
Stay informed about updates in CACFP regulations and guidelines, adapting administrative processes accordingly.
9.
Provide clerical and support services for the program staff including record keeping, purchasing, ChildPlus, meal counts and attendance, etc.
10.
As a member of the Head Start management support team, participate in the planning and execution of plans in all areas of the program.
11.
Knowledge and ability to carry out the Head Start Performance Standards, WCMCA/Head Start policies and procedures, and other regulations that relate to Head Start.
12.
Keep your immediate supervisor informed of all problems, unusual or extraordinary matters of significance coming to his/her attention, so that prompt corrective action can be taken as needed.
13.
All other duties as assigned by your supervisor, including participation in Agency and program committees.
