Salary Range Group 8 from $23.

73 per hour Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Accounting, the Accounting Assistant supports all financial functions of the Accounting Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other Duties may be assigned.
Processes daily deposits and cash receipts in a timely manner and records receipts in A/R module of accounting system.
Enters bank transfers and NSF transactions in the finance system.
Maintains the district online school fees for new products, imports financial transactions into the accounting system and provides training to school admins.
Prepares quarterly sales tax return.
Review accounts payable Check/EFT batches for proper coding, process checks and upload files to the bank for Accounts Payable and Payroll.
Monitor and prepare indemnity bonds for vendors who have stale dated checks and file annual unclaimed property report for any uncashed checks.
Processes all district journal entries as requested for review by the District Accountant.
Maintains general ledger fund 60: Student Activities, fund 61 fundraising and fund 70 trust and agency and monitors for proper use of funds and balances.
Reconcile general ledger balance sheet accounts for all payroll liability accounts.
Reconcile and approve payroll liability batches.
Assists in the annual audit and budget process.
Responsible for the completion of the student activities budget, providing timelines and training to budget managers for budget implementation.
Provides assistance and regular training to school admin assistants regarding accounting processes and inquiries.
Participate in all mandatory training or training appropriate to the position as required by the district.

Ability to write reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before administrators and staff.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, taxes, insurance rates and other practical solutions.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, staff and outside personnel.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements, accounting standards and Board policies.
