Yes Job Summary/Basic Function The primary responsibilities of this position are to lead communication efforts for offices in the division of Student Development and Campus Life.
Additionally to provide administrative support in the Office of Student Engagement.
The office consists of an Assistant Dean/Director, Assistant Director, and Student Organizations and Programming Coordinator Communication efforts for the division include: managing all Campus Center publicity reservations designing social media content coordinating efforts for the campus student engagement platform Cobber Connect communication projects may include writing, editing, designing reports, brochures, websites, slide decks, and other content for various audiences including current and prospective students, employees, and parents.
Student Engagement programs include: student organizations, leadership trainings, inclusive community initiatives, Student Government, student programming events, Cobber Food Pantry, and the Parke Student Leadership Center.
The specialist will: hire and train student staff manage department purchase cards serve as first point of contact for the office research and design new digital processes related to student group off-campus travel, fundraising, equipment check-out, and financial systems This position works in a fast-paced professional environment that necessitates an efficient and orderly flow of operations.
A sensitivity to college student development is essential, and a desire to help teach and mentor college students who are learning practical skills.
Minimum Qualifications · Associate degree in administrative support, communications or related field, plus two years of office administrative experience, or by equivalent education and experience.
· Experience with Windows, Word, and Excel · Database and/or communications platform experience (with a combination of programs such as Qualtrics, Event Management System, Mail Chimp, Banner, Google suite, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Asana, Basecamp or similar) · Experience communicating to individuals about project needs and/or deadlines · Design and content creation experience using programs such as Canva, Adobe, or similar.
· Editorial/proofreading experience.
Preferred Qualifications · Web site and social media management · Experience in a college or university office or involvement in college co-curricular activities.
· Experience with a college student engagement platform such as Campus Groups, Campus Labs, or Anthology.
