The Administrative Assistant reports to the Director and supports all functional areas managed by International Student and Study Abroad Services (ISSAS) office, including international admissions and international and study abroad student services.
The administrative assistant is responsible for maintaining an open, welcoming atmosphere at the front desk by greeting visitors, assisting with scheduling advising appointments, answering the telephone, and responding to email inquiries.
Additional responsibilities include, and are not limited to, hiring, training and managing student workers, assisting with international admissions processing, tracking budgets, and assisting with events.
The Administrative Assistant position offers an excellent opportunity to engage with students of diverse backgrounds and serves as a key role in ISSAS in advancing a culture of excellence in support NDSU students, faculty, and staff by performing the following job duties: 1.
Maintaining a welcoming environment in the ISSAS front office with specific attention paid to responsive, efficient student service 2.
Coordinating the hiring, onboarding and management of student workers, and providing support for all hiring and search processes in ISSAS 3.
Providing support for ISSAS operations and processes 4.
Serving as Passport Program Manager This position may also serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) to support NDSU's compliance with federal regulations related to F-1 visa holders.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM, 7:30AM-4PM during breaks and summer Advertised Salary: $38,000 per year + excellent benefits package Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED with at least 2 years of experience in an administrative role.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience working in a functional area of international education and/or in a higher education setting directly serving and support students of diverse backgrounds.
