Valley City State University invites applications for a full-time, Elementary Education Tenure-Track or Special Appointment position.
The candidate selected will be expected to teach both online and face-to-face.
The primary responsibility of this position will be to teach professional education coursework in the elementary education degree program and to advise teacher candidates.
Successful candidates will be expected to maintain learning outcomes and content as needed.
Duties will include advising, student teaching supervision, and campus committees.
The position will require some reimbursed travel between the Valley City State University and North Dakota State University campus locations supporting both Elementary Education programs.
Other main duties may include: Teaching foundational and methods coursework in elementary education.
Supervise Student Teachers.
Recruiting and advising a diverse student population.
Engaging in appropriate service in the department, university, and academic community.
Participating in professional development in elementary education pedagogy, staying current with relevant course content, and working to improve student learning and engagement.
Minimum Qualifications A master’s degree in elementary education or reading: or closely related content area.
Willingness to teach both face-to-face on campus and in the online format.
Travel between two campus locations.
Minimum of 8 years of K-12 teaching experience.
Experience working with an online Learning Management System (LMS) such as Blackboard or Moodle.
Ability to work with others in a collegial and collaborative manner.
Preferred Qualifications Doctorate in a related field.
Demonstrated proficiency with the use of technology in the classroom, and experience teaching in the online format.
Experience advising students.
Experience giving professional development presentations or records of published research.
Experience in Early Childhood Education and Early Literacy Education Compensation: The salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications and typically ranges from $48,000 - $50,000 annually pending experience and qualifications.
This position is a 9-month, full-time position.
In some cases, summer duties may be arranged through an additional contract.
