Position Description:
The Learning Services Specialist oversees and promotes the Viking Learning Commons, a staffed student lounge that is welcoming, offers holistic attention, and centers on the academic development of college students.
This position is student facing and involves academic coaching and educational support.
This position is responsible for hiring and training peer tutors, and scheduling and supervising all student workers.
Setting up and maintaining appointment software, staying up to date on campus technology, and learning accessibility features are necessary in this position.
Fostering a good rapport with faculty and staff across campus for the benefit of student success is expected.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education.
Classroom experience.
Compensation:
$36,000-40,000 annually and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
