Description:
Position Purpose:
Provides exercise assessment, personal training, lifestyle and wellness coaching, physical conditioning or reconditioning, risk factor reduction and education through exercise prescription, supervised exercise, and educational programs to members of Family Wellness.
Jobs Specific Competencies:
Provides fitness and wellness assessments based on member goals and preferences.
Develops personalized exercise programs to meet the needs of members.
Provides coaching towards improved wellness for each individual.
Demonstrate and teach proper technique to ensure safety and maximum results.
Assists in the promotion of Family Wellness programs and services to promote awareness and the importance of exercise to ensure the growth of Family Wellness.
Leads circuits or small group training sessions.
Manage client and personal schedules.
Any other duties assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
Education, Experience, & Skills (Minimum Requirement):
Must have knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, exercise programming as well as strong interpersonal skills.
Bachelor’s degree in physical education, exercise science, corporate fitness, or a related field of study preferred but not required.
Experience in medical fitness is also preferred.
Must have a thorough understanding of the physiological basis of activity.
Licensure/Certification Requirement(s):
Credentialed by one or more nationally accredited exercise certifying bodies through the National Commission of Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
Must obtain and maintain certification requirements.
First Aid and CPR certification required upon hire or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
