The administrator will be passionate about student-centered education, possess strong leadership skills, and have a proven track record of fostering an environment that encourages self-directed learning and critical thinking.
This position involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the middle school, collaborating with educators, and shaping a learning environment that empowers students to take ownership of their education.
Responsibilities 1.
Educational Leadership: exercises leadership for the organization, administration, and supervision of all curricular and co-curricular programs of the school Lead the development and articulation of a clear vision for self-directed learning within the middle school.
Provide guidance and support to teachers in aligning instructional practices with the principles of self-directed learning.
Foster a culture of collaboration, shared responsibility, innovation, and continuous improvement among the teacher teams.
Create, implement, and support flexible scheduling and student grouping for a variety of instructional delivery methodologies.
Foster open and ongoing communication to create capacity building, encourage educator autonomy, and develop of teacher leaders.
Implement true professional learning communities that are focused on student learning, focus on collaboration, and focus on results.

Curriculum Development: the principal will use systematic planning, design, and implementation of educational programs that align with the philosophy of self-directed learning Collaboration with teacher teams to embed and implement team-enabled personalized learning Collaborate with teachers to design interdisciplinary and project-based curriculum units that promote self-directed exploration.
Ensure the integration of real-world applications and experiences into the curriculum to enhance student engagement.
Regularly review and update curriculum materials to reflect best practices in self-directed learning.

Student Engagement: the principal fosters and supports curriculum and practices that contribute to an increase in student motivation, satisfaction and overall success in learning.
Implement strategies to personalize learning experiences, considering individual student needs and interests.
Create platforms for student voice and choice in decision-making processes related to their education.
Establish mentoring programs or support systems to guide students in setting and achieving academic goals 4.
Community Engagement: The principal develops and maintains a good program of public relations in order to further the community’s understanding and support of the educational program of the school.
Organize regular community forums or events to share information about the academy's approach to self-directed learning.
Collaborate with parents and community members to create partnerships that support student success.
Implement effective communication channels, such as newsletters or online platforms, to keep stakeholders informed 5.
Professional Development: the principal develops and provides opportunities for staff and personal growth that aligns with self-directed learning practices and team-based instruction Facilitate ongoing professional development workshops focused on self-directed learning methodologies.
Encourage team-enabled lesson planning and peer observation to promote a culture of shared learning.
Provide resources and support for teachers to stay current with educational trends and research.

School Operations: the building principal is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit.
All certified and non-certified personnel assigned to the building are supervised by the principal Develop and manage efficient, dynamic scheduling processes to accommodate team schedules, dynamic student grouping, team-enabled deeper learning, and personalized learning plans.
Oversee the allocation of resources, including technology and materials, to support self-directed learning initiatives.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; performance evaluations, supervising and addressing stand and student conduct (positive and negative); conducting required safety training and drills, and addressing and resolving complaints and problems.
Work effectively with members of central administration staff on school functions such as transportation, special education, food service, and other departments.
Ensure compliance with state educational regulations and policies, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Communicate and keep District Office informed of school’s activities and problems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in education or a related field.
Principal certification.
Proven experience in educational leadership, preferably in a self-directed learning environment.
Strong understanding of middle school education, curriculum design, and assessment strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate students, teachers, and parents.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with designing and implementing teacher teams.
