Works closely with the Director of Golf and 1st Assistant Golf Professional to oversee all facets of the golf operation and especially the day to day responsibilities and procedures established to ensure efficiency and meeting service objectives.
Assistant Golf Pro provides professional support, direction, management, training, and leadership to golf staff associates.
Promotes and nurtures customer relations to enhance the quality of the golf experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Stays current with marketing objectives & initiatives and takes an active role in making impressions on sales prospects as well as all members and their guests.
Continually strives to learn about the Pronghorn Brand and instill this culture to other members of the staff.
The Seasonal Assistant will be involved in all aspects of the golf operation with the goal of assuming the responsibilities of the 1st Assistant as positions become available.
Directly responsible for being the link between the inside staff and outside services.
Works closely with the outside supervisor to ensure that every member and guest's expectations are exceeded and that the staff gives “above and beyond” service.
Directly responsible for working with the outside supervisor in creating, updating, implementing and evaluating outside service SOP’s to fulfill operational goals and objectives.
Directly manage the Golf Cart Fleet with help from the Outside Supervisor to ensure daily and monthly maintenance procedures and rotations are being met.
Directly responsible for leading the outside staff in the daily management of play for optimal flow on the golf courses.
Directly Responsible for training programs for outside operations and working with the outside supervisor to achieve service requirements and daily maintenance practices as outlined in the SOP’s.
Manage and assist the Outside Supervisor to ensure schedules are made to achieve service objectives and fit into the current budget.
Directly responsible for working with the 1st Assistant for all tournament activities and administration of daily, major, corporate and special events.
This will include promotion, communication, administration, budget management, and detailed summary for event evaluations to enhance future planning.
Directly responsible for managing the club rental program and reporting its inventory monthly.
Directly responsible daily & weekly protocol in administration of the Handicap System through GHIN as outlined in Handicap SOP’s.
Expected to have a strong working knowledge of the USGA Handicap System and the procedures established by the Oregon Golf Association.
Understands the USGA Handicap Manuel and educates both staff and members of pertinent handicapping issues.
Responsible for learning all aspects of the point of sale system and automated tee time system (EZ Links, JONAS), and assisting with training of new staff regarding protocols as established by the club.
To include daily reporting functions.
Help promote and educate club rules & policy to members Work with the 1st Assistant and Merchandiser on back of the house and front of the house merchandising to develop and maintain inventory control SOP’s and presentation of hard goods.
This includes working with the 1st Assistant and merchandiser to develop strong vendor relationships to maintain the desired stock needed to hit budget numbers.
Constant monitoring of sales and inventory to ensure saleable products are available to members and year end inventories are low.
Responsible for keeping up on current equipment offerings and specifications and playing characteristics of products carried in the golf shop as well as in the industry.
Manage the club repair program to include inventory, pricing, and protocols.
Responsible for working with the 1st Assistant to keep rounds reporting current.
Work with the Director of Golf and all club departments to ensure events are scheduled in a timely manner that minimizes or eliminates conflicts and allows for optimal service to members.
Enhance a customer service orientated atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and meets the needs of the membership.
Anticipating potential problems & opportunities with a problem solving approach.
Is aware of budgets for tournaments and assists the 1st Assistant with inputting data for analysis, and helps control expenses in relation to revenues.
Assist the Director of Golf and 1st Assistant in the recruiting, developing, and coaching of employees according to policy and procedure.
Understands and performs HR tasks as scheduled in a timely manner.
Assists the Director of Golf and 1st Assistant by working closely with other departments and especially the golf course superintendent, food & beverage, and club house staff regarding communications and initiatives required to meet service and operational objectives.
Works with the Director of Golf and 1st Assistant to provide leadership and vision to the golf staff.
Responsible for taking minutes at meetings when the 1st Assistant is not present.
Assists merchandiser as needed in administration of buying plans and receiving process Abide by all provisions of established safety programs.
Assist in developing and communicating emergency and safety procedures for all Golf Shop functions.
Work with the Director of Golf, Director of Instruction, and 1st Assistant to take an active role in the Pronghorn Academy through education, club fitting and golf instruction for members and guests needed.
Actively seek advancement through the PGA and PGA education and participate in organizations whose purpose will be of the benefit to Pronghorn.
Practice safe work habits and teach other staff to do the same.
Able to effectively handle multiple tasks.
Model a professional, ethical and respectful behavior at all times.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Under the Direction of the Head Professional will supervise the entire Outside Operations QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Bachelor’s degree (B.
A.
) or equivalent; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient in golf hospitality, Internet technologies and continuing improvement in Microsoft Office products.
Must have extensive knowledge of the Rules of Golf.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Member or apprentice in good standings with the PGA of America.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing.
Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
