The Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) at North Dakota State University (NDSU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in Transportation Engineering effective Spring 2024.
Applicants in any emerging transportation engineering areas of national and international relevance will be considered.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated research capability in innovative experimental and/or theoretical research that will enable development of a strong sponsored research program and a strong record of peer-reviewed publications, and a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The successful candidate is expected to make use of shared facilities and research space in the materials laboratory.
Preference will be given to candidates with excellent communication skills, exceptional research records, potential to obtain federal grants, ability to bring a diverse perspective to the department, and a professional engineering license.

in Civil Engineering or a closely related field and a Ph.
D.
degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field (An earned doctorate by the time of appointment is required).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Evidence of scholarly work in transportation or allied area.
Preferred Qualifications: 1.
Demonstrated evidence of an externally funded research program or the evidence of the potential to establish an externally funded research program 2.
Registered professional engineer or eligibility to become registered within three years of appointment.
3.
Evidence of ability to work in teams and collaborate with constituents beyond the department and college.

Active research and teaching programs cover the areas of geotechnical, structural, transportation, environmental, water resources, materials, and construction management and engineering.
The department offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering, environmental engineering, construction engineering, and construction management, and a doctorate degree in civil engineering.
The Department also participates in environmental and conservation sciences (ECS) and materials and nanotechnology (MNT) interdisciplinary graduate programs.
