Be a part of an organization whose mission is to make independence a gift to those in your community! Special Education Teacher - Jamestown, ND *Eligible for a $10,000 sign on bonus!* JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to oversee the operations of assigned classroom.
The incumbent provides supervisory guidance and direction to classroom staff, and effectively utilizes problem solving skills to meet staff and student needs.
The incumbent assesses, develops, and implements the Individualized Education Plans for assigned students.
This position will meet the following minimum requirements: Must be a graduate of an accredited school with a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Special Education from a state-approved program.
Must possess a current license from the state of North Dakota.
Must have effective skills in organization, supervision, leadership, and effective communication skills – both oral and written.
Must be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills; being tactful, courteous, and diplomatic with internal and external contacts.
Must also be able to write curriculum and lesson plans, monitor programs and have effective classroom management techniques.
Preferred/Required Skills and Abilities: Knowledge/experience of the established/evidence-based treatment and interventions for individuals with varying disabilities served.
This includes interventions and treatments within the natural environment and home/residential settings, school-based therapy supporting student access to the curriculum, therapeutic programming and support for individuals with complex medical needs.
