Student Accessibility Coordinator
LOCATION: North Dakota State College of Science – Wahpeton, ND
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, 10-month, benefitted position

JOB SUMMARY: The Student Accessibility Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that students with disabilities have equal access to educational opportunities, residential housing and campus activities.
The Student Accessibility Coordinator works directly with students to identify appropriate accommodations for disabilities.
This process involves assessing information from educational, medical or psychological professionals and conducting intake interviews to establish a foundational understanding of students' accessibility requirements.
The Accessibility Coordinator will then approve individualized accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504, ensuring non-discrimination.
The Student Accessibility Coordinator is responsible for notifying pertinent staff and faculty of the approved accommodations.
The Student Accessibility Coordinator will collaborate with faculty and staff to address accessibility concerns in the curriculum and physical campus environment.
Additionally, the Student Accessibility Coordinator aids students experiencing temporary medical conditions and students in need of accommodations due to pregnant or parenting status in accordance with Title IX regulations.
This position will also help support the test center functions and support students through academic coaching.

SALARY: $48,500-$54,000, commensurate with education and experience.

) in education, counseling, social work, rehabilitation services, disability studies or related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
Consistent and informed decision-making capabilities.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and organize documentation.
Computer proficiency, including familiarity with assistive technology.
Exceptional counseling & problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build professional relationships.
Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Valid driver’s license - will work at the NDSCS Fargo location approximately twice a month.
Preferred Qualifications Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting.
Proficiency in ADA and Section 504 laws, guidelines, and standards as they relate to higher education, housing and academic programs.
Experience with reviewing and evaluating documentation to determine accommodations in higher education, employment, other educational settings, or clinical settings.
Knowledge of both current and emerging assistive technology.
